PGK Tom Lapos passed away on Monday, February 13th. A memorial/rosary will be held at Nicoletti’s funeral home at 5401 Folsom Blvd. at 3:30 p.m. this Saturday, February 18th. A presentation will be made to the family of the 953 Council’s Certificate of Condolence. Members of the 4th Degree Color Corps will also be present in honor of Tom’s long service as a 3rd Degree member and two time Grand Knight. Please pray for the repose of the soul of Tom. May his memory be eternal.

I had a call from Tom Lapos’ daughter. She said that Tom is
receiving daily radiation treatments for his throat cancer. His last
treatment will be next Monday and then they are asking hospice to come
in. Tom is a Past Grand Knight of the Council and as some of you know we
had a special prayer for him at the last meeting. He is at home and
would welcome visitors. Please continue your prayers for Tom.

I have known Brother Howie Mifflen ever since he became a Knight. My wife Claudia knew him much longer as they both worked together at Mercy General Hospital. May God’s Light shine on Howie, give him the same warm friendship he gave others and be with Him in heaven with Eternal Life.

Brother Howard Mifflin passed away about a week ago. Brother Howard was an Honorary Life member of twenty-eight years in the Knights and a Past Grand Knight of Council 953.

We are awaiting contact with the family for information about any planned services for Brother Howard and any details will be passed on to the membership as soon as they are learned.

Please pray for the repose of Brother Howard’s soul and for the comfort of his family.

Brothers,

We have learned that Brother Harold Dalske passed away on Nov. 30, 2011. Brother Harold was a 3rd degree Knight and a member of the Knights since 1991.
A memorial mass will be held at All Hallows Church on Friday, Dec. 16, 2011 at 10:00AM.

Please pray for the repose of Brother Harold’s soul and for his family.

Brother Eugene Evenson passed away on October 8, 2011. He was a 35 year member of the Knights of Columbus and was 92 years of age at the the time of his death. A funeral mass will be offered at St Francis Church located 1066-26th street in Sacramento. Mass will be at 11:00AM on Friday, Oct. 14, 2011 and a reception will follow at the West Sacramento Moose Lodge #1762 located at 3142 Jefferson Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis Church, the West Sacramento Moose Lodge or a charity of choice.

Please keep Brother Eugene and his family in your prayers.
