Father Simon’s farewell Mass , Sacred Heart Church on June 25, 2023

Honored by Council 953, Father had on display during his last Mass in the United States before leaving for the UK, The 16th Century Madonna and Child by Andrea Del Sarto for the first in a Mass since created in Europe over 500 years ago following a private special blessing by The Pieta.

Father Davy’s farewell Mass, St Mary’s on July 1, 2023

Father Davy held his final Mass and was processed in with the relics of both Blessed Michael McGivney and Mother Teresa.  For the second time, The Madonna and Child made another appearance in honor of our beloved Chaplain.  In an emotional and inspiring evening, we heard many wonderful sentiments from parishioners st his farewell dinner.  One of the highlights of the night was the Council 953 presentation of The Fr. Juan Perez Award from our State Deputy which he had won for the Columbian Year.  Selected from hundreds of other Chaplains across California, what a great joy to see his expression of surprise while accepting this great State honor among ongoing cheers and applauds of all!
