The council will be holding a 1st degree exemplification on Thursday, April 30th. Any and all members are invited to attend to observe the ceremony and welcome our new members. The door to the council hall will be open at 6:00 p.m., and we are requesting that all candidates arrive no later than 6:30.. The exemplification shall start at 7:00 p.m. (or shortly thereafter).
Refreshments will be served following the exemplification.

Please ensure your candidates are dressed in business casual, i.e., slacks, khakis, dress or polo shirt. Make sure you are using the most current Form 100. Remind prospective candidates that their dues will be prorated for the year and there will be a flat initiation fee.

The doors to the council hall will be open at 6:00 pm, and we are requesting that all candidates arrive no later than 6:30. The exemplification shall begin promptly at 7:00. St. Mary’s Parish will be holding its 85th annual festival on Sunday, September, 25, 2016 and as usual, the festival’s Zippy Bun Booth will be set up and run by members of the council. (For newer members not familiar with a zippy bun sandwich, it’s nothing more than a pile of roast beef between two bun halves dripping with aus jus and is one of the most popular food items at the festival.) We’re still in need of volunteers to man some of the two hour shifts.

The international Knights of Columbus Day of Prayer for the Unborn Child takes place on March 25. Knights of Columbus Council 953 invites all members of the community to join us for a pro-life Mass (Divine Liturgy) to be held in the Byzantine Rite at St. George Greek-Melkite Catholic Church, 1620 Bell Street, Sacramento, CA 95864. The Divine Liturgy begins at 10:30 am on Saturday March 25. The Divine Liturgy will be concelebrated by Fr. Hezekias Carnazzo pastor of St George, Fr. Brendan McAnerney, O.P and Fr. Aaron Engebretson S.J. chaplain of council 953.
A simple fish lunch will be served following the Divine Liturgy.
