Renew What’s Important To You

Spring is a time for renewal. Trees and plants will soon be blooming, and many animals will shake off the cold and become active again. As the winter doldrums end, you’ll be ready to get outside with your family, too, and be part of this renewal.

It is also a perfect opportunity to take a few moments to consider your goals and what’s important to you and your loved ones. Are you planning to welcome a new child or sending one to college? Are you looking forward to retirement? Will you have enough money to accomplish these goals? What would happen if something happened to you?

Whether or not you have life insurance with the Order, I’ll be happy to meet with you and examine how you can meet your needs and goals.  If you’ve had any life changes since you last bought a policy (new home, new child, new job, etc.), chances are your life insurance needs to be updated.  Maybe an annuity or long-term care plan appeals to your situation. Whatever the case, I’ll work with you to make sure you have the coverage you need at a price you can afford.

When we meet, you’ll discover that the time we spend together will be a commitment to your future and your family’s well-being. Let’s get together soon to renew your financial goals with the stable backing of the Knights of Columbus.

Tax Time Again

This season, in most homes, is financial accounting time. Some will probably ask, “Where did all our money go?” Surely, all of the money we earn finds a home somewhere… the grocer, the mortgage, the tax person, etc. Very little, if any, is leftover for a personal bank account or other investments. Most of us consider ourselves fortunate if we’ve managed to pay our bills! For some or most of us, there’s no leftover.

The point is, whatever the amount earned, chances are good that it is spent providing for and rearing a family. Think about that for a minute. The needs of that family continue — food, shelter, and clothing — even if the breadwinner suffers an untimely death.

So what does income tax have to do with insurance? It can serve as a reminder that protection for dependents should include an estimate for the current needs for money. While it may be convenient to say “I can’t afford it,” that’s proba-bly not accurate — when you consider that your family will be without any income should you die. With this in mind, our Order has designed a plan which guarantees to continue income to your family for as long as they will need it. What’s more, this plan will enable you to systematically save some of those dollars so difficult to account for at tax time.

Beneficiaries…Who Do You Love? ♥♥

Valentine’s Day will soon be here!  Do you know who the beneficiary is on your life insurance policy?  Sometimes it is easy to overlook the simplest of things.

Why is it so important to know and to have your beneficiary information updated?  A life insurance policy protects the financial status of another person – or people – in the event of your death.

When Purchasing Knights of Columbus insurance policy, you have selected a primary beneficiary, and if you desire, a contingent, or secondary beneficiary.  It’s always a wise choice to have a contingent beneficiary because you may outlive your primary beneficiary.  A contingent beneficiary is the person designated to receive life insurance policy proceeds if the primary beneficiary dies.

By being specific as possible in the wording your beneficiary designation you make sure that the life insurance proceeds will be available to your wife, daughter, son, etc., in a timely manner  when needed most.

Your life situation will undoubtedly change over time.  Plan to update your beneficiary designations periodically.  This will ensure that your life insurance coverage will protect those you love and want to protect.

Changing your beneficiary is fairly simple.   I can provide you with the necessary forms, and can help you fill them out.    I can also help you with all of your life insurance policy beneficiary designations for any life insurance policy you hold – regardless of the company that issued it.

The Holidays Are Fast Approaching!! Are You Ready For Your Insurance Check-up for 2013?

Now that the holidays are fast approaching! Can you believe it will soon be 2013? I hope that 2012 has been a healthy, prosperous year for you and your family. It’s said that time flies, and the older we get, the more that statement seems true. As we review the past year and prepare to welcome a new one, we wonder where the time goes.

If you’re like most people, you’ve made some resolutions for 2013. If I may, I’d like to make two suggestions regarding your resolutions. First, write them down. A resolution is really a goal for the year and, until you commit a goal to writing, it’s nothing more than a wish. Writing a resolution down is the first step towards achieving it. Whether your goal is to lose weight, contribute more time and money to charity, read more or watch less television, you’re more likely to accomplish it if you write it down.

Second, schedule some time to visit with me, your professional Knights of Columbus insurance agent. The “insurance check-up” that I’ll provide (free of charge, by the way!) will quickly identify any gaps in your family’s life insurance program. And you’ll want to fill those gaps now, not later. Because unlike many other products, you need more than money to obtain life insurance. You also need good health, and no one will ring a bell warning you when your health is about to change.

Knights of Columbus life insurance offers something precious few other financial products can – guarantees. As long as you pay your premiums, the policy proceeds will be there for your beneficiaries should something happen to you. We call that peace of mind, and that’s (as they say in the credit card commercials) priceless.

This Holiday Season, keep in mind the real meaning of CHRISTmas. Keeping CHRIST in CHRISTmas. Take time to enjoy your family and friends. Think of those things God has given us. Remember that you are the one who your family counts on for tomorrow’s support. The Knights of Columbus is here to help assure that mission is met.
