Last Columbian Year, Knights of Columbus Council 953 raised over $1,000 for Habitat for Humanity’s Build for Unity project. Council 953 is now an official faith partner helping to build this home alongside many of Sacramento’s varied faith communities. Council 953 members are invited to attend the ground breaking ceremony at 8:00 am Thursday, July 11th, at 5125 Stoner Drive Sacramento, CA 95820
A fund-raiser to benefit seminarians from the Diocese of Sacramento
Keep the faith alive by supporting our seminarians from the Diocese of Sacramento. The Knights of Columbus Council #953 will raise funds for seminarians by selling ice-cold beer and a variety of grilled sausage sandwiches.
The $5.00 combo meal includes chips and condiments. A variety of beers and sodas will be sold at affordable prices. All are welcomed.

The Council’s Christmas Potluck will be on Thursday, December 13. All Brother Knights and their families are invited. The hall and bar will open at 5:30pm, and dinner will be served at 6:30pm. Also, we would ask that you bring an unused baby item for a donation to the Bishop Gallegos Maternity Home. Some suggestions are:

On Thursday, Nov.15th, we will be holding a 1st degree ceremony at the hall. The doors will open at 6:00PM and the ceremony will commence at 7:00PM with refreshments to follow. All members of Council 953 are welcome to attend as observers and to greet our new Knights.
If any member has someone in mind that he feels would be a good addition to the Knights, now is the time to ask them. If any such person expresses an interest, I will be happy to meet with them and to fill out an application form if that person decides to join.
Finally, we are also holding a membership drive at St. Mary’s church this Saturday and Sunday following each mass. I could use someone after the 8:00AM and 11:00AM masses to hand out our brochure to any interested person at the garden side door of the church. Time spent would be about 10 minutes.
