Brother Knights:
As we enter into Advent, it is a time for reflection, preparation, prayer, and family. I wish each member and their families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

I was proud to receive the plaque for Star Council for the past Columbian Year. This is only the third time our council has been awarded Star Council.
So what does it take to be Star Council? It is a lot more than just membership. We needed to increase our membership by 16 members, we increased it by
19. We needed an increase of 6 new insurance members, we increased it by 7. We needed to conduct and report at least four (4) major involvement programs in each of the following areas Church, Community, Council, Family, Pro-Life and Youth. We did that and much more. There were also forms that needed to be submitted in a timely manner mostly by the Financial Secretary.
Star Council is a collaborative effort by the entire council. Every member of this council should be proud, it was the hard of work each and every one of you.
Thank you!

Many thanks to PGK Al Piccardo for all his hard work in putting on our annual Giant Shrimp Dinner. We are pleased to report that the dinner produced net proceeds of $3,000!
I would like to thank Dale Edwards, Bill Renard, Alex Kachmar, and my friend Cindy Leggitt for helping during last month’s sale. I also would like to thank Alex and his wife Joanne for helping pack up leftovers after the sale, and George Mills and Dale for taking two loads of leftovers to St. Vincent de Paul on Monday 12/1. We raised almost $400 for the Hall Board.

On Nov. 8th & 9th, the Council conducted its annual “Tootsie Roll” Drive after the masses at St. Mary’s to raise funds for the intellectually disabled. The event was a success, raising $635.00, thanks to the volunteers who greeted the departing parishioners with tootsie rolls and accepting their donations. They are: Al Piccardo, Adam Struck, Bryan McKrell, Larry Schneider, Mike McVean, Keith Schiele, Terry Corcoran, Alex Kachmar and Dale Edwards. And thanks to two of our members who agreed to make themselves available if needed: Bill Sheean and Bob Willet.
Again, thanks to all.
– George Mills
The Council also held the annual Tootsie Roll drive after all masses at Sacred Heart on November 15th and 16th. Thanks to all who helped at Sacred Heart as well. Our efforts there raised an additional $360.00.
The Council’s Christmas Potluck will be on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014. All Brother Knights and their families are invited. The hall and bar will open at 5:30PM and dinner will be served at 6:30PM. There will also be an attendance drawing and one lucky member will win $50.00. The Council will provide a ham for the potluck.
We will be showing, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”
