Culture of Life Report August 2015

Brother Knights,

On July 12th Adam Struck and I arrived at the Bishop Gallegos Maternity Home and met with Lenore Mullarkey, the Director, at which time we presented her with the proceeds from the Pasta for Life Dinner – a check in the amount of $1,500.

A grateful Lenore gave us a tour of the Home and explained how the Home is really a product of the love, dedication, and personal commitment of so many Catholics. Her voice expressed the hope that this commitment will continue. She asked if Adam and I would convey to all of you the need the Home has for dedicated individuals, who can give their efforts to the Home.

If any of my fellow Knights have special skills, and the desire to perform good works, could you please let me know?

The maternity home needs, from time to time, carpenters, plumbers, electricians, roofers, painters, and tile setters. I am compiling a list for the Home.

Please let me know if you have the necessary skills and are available when the need arises.

I can be reached at: 916.205.5047 or garciazemail@gmail.com

Please take a moment to reflect on the following:

What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister has nothing to wear and has no food for the day, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, keep warm, and eat well,” but you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (James 2:14)

Brother Knights, let us continue with our good works!

God Bless,
Hector Garcia
