Christmas Potluck Dinner

The Council’s Christmas Potluck will be on Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014.  All Brother Knights and their families are invited.  The hall and bar will open at 5:30PM and dinner will be served at 6:30PM.  There will also be an attendance drawing and one lucky member will win $50.00.  The Council will provide a ham for the potluck.

We will be showing, “It’s a Wonderful Life.”

Also, we would ask that you bring an unused baby item for a donation to the Bishop Gallegos Maternity Home. Some suggestions are:

  • Diapers

  • Formula
  • Bottles & nipples
  • Baby Toys

  • Baby washcloths
  • Baby soaps

German Night

[flagallery gid=7]This year’s annual German Night was once again a great success. As always, Tom Nulk did a fantastic job organizing this event and making an enjoyable evening for all who attended. Many thanks to Tom and all who those who helped him. We are pleased to report that over $1,600 was raised!

Christmas Yard Sale

A Christmas yard sale will be held at the council hall on Friday, November 28 and Saturday, November 29 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The proceeds will go toward the cost of repairing the hall’s back parking lot. Your donations of saleable items are needed and will be accepted until the days of the sale. Donations may be dropped off at the hall (back parking lot next to the garage), or you may call Terry Corcoran at 224-7786 to discuss possible pick up. Additionally, volunteers are needed to help during the sale.

First Annual Mexican Night Successful

Thanks to all brothers and the student helpers who helped with the dinner, including PGK Ricardo Saldaña’s family and Lewis Muñoz’s family. For further details, all Brothers should attend our Council’s October General Business Meeting. Past Grand Knights & Old Timers Dinner

2014-2015 Council 953 OfficersOn June 26, Council 953 held its annual Past Grand Knights & Old Timers Dinner. In addition to the installation of officers for the 2014-15 Columbian Year, several council members were honored for their service during the 2013-14 Columbian Year.

John Watling was honored as Knight of the Year,

John Watling was honored as Knight of the Year, and Ricardo Saldaña and his wife Monica were honored as
Family of the Year.

Past Grand Knight Fred Struck in honor of his year of service as Grand Knight.

 

In addition, a Plaque of Appreciation was presented to Immediate Past Grand Knight Fred Struck in honor of his year of service as Grand Knight.

 

 

Many thanks for all who worked hard to make the Past Grand Knight’s/Old Timers Dinner a great success. As usual the food was great. I especially want to thank Dave Carboni, who was in the kitchen cooking from 12:30 pm until the dinner was served. Also thanks to Terry Corcoran, Steve Mills, Tom Nulk, George Mills, John Watling, Dale Edwards, Carlos Galindo, Garrett Thomas, Hector Garcia.
