Our Knight of the Month for August was Scott Raab. He is the outreach director of Move America Forward, a Rancho Cordova organization that sends care packages to our troops overseas and provides assistance to veterans here at home. Recently, Scott connected with the Knights of Columbus Wheelchair Mission and was able to secure 30 wheelchairs that Move America Forward later distributed to disabled veterans in our area. Scott keeps busy with his work, and so we don’t always see him at our regular meetings and events. But that hasn’t stopped him from fulfilling our order’s mission of charity. Well done, Brother Scott!

PGK/Old Timers Dinner & Installation of Officers
The council held its annual Past Grand Knights and Old Timers Dinner on Thursday, June 30. In addition to honoring those of our members who have achieved milestones of service in the Knights of Columbus, the council installed the new officers for the 2016-17 Columbian Year and thanked outgoing Grand Knight Lewis Muñoz. Additionally, Steve Mills and Dave Carboni were honored as Knights of the Year for 2015-16. Special thanks to all those who helped prepare the delicious dinner as well as to District Deputy Ricardo Saldaña for installing our new officers.
Knight of the Month – May 2015
Michael Litwin and Greg Wolfe were named Knights of the Month at the May Business Meeting. In the absence of a chair for this year’s annual Irish Night dinner, both of these Brothers stepped in to fill the void, Michael by taking reservations and Greg by coordinating the preparation and serving of dinner. Thanks to their hard work and dedication, this year’s Irish Night was once again a successful and fun-filled evening for all.
Knight of the Month – March 2015
Adam Struck was named Knight of the Month at the March business meeting in recognition of all his hard work in organizing the council’s successful Pasta 4 Life fundraiser in February. Thanks to his leadership, this was by far our most successful Pasta 4 Life dinner to date. Adam serves as the council’s Warden and as editor of the Knight Letter.
Knights & Families of the Month – October 2014
In light of there being so many individuals to thank for 953’s successful Mexican Night dinner, the Grand Night named multiple Knights of the Month in October.
The Knights of the Month are Ricardo Saldaña and Lewis Muñoz, who organized Mexican Night, as well as Lewis’ father Frank Muñoz, who came up from Los Angeles to help.
In addition, the Muñoz and Saldaña families were named Families of the Month in appreciation of all their hard work for Mexican Night. Some family members literally spent the entire day in the kitchen helping to prepare the delicious food we all enjoyed.
Knight of the Month – September 2014
Hector Garcia was named Knight of the Month at the September business meeting. Hector has been a source of consistent and much-appreciated help at all of the Council’s recent events, including the Steak Dinner. His dedication is also evident in his role as Pro Life Director, in which he does an excellent job keeping his Brother Knights updated on events and legislation related to life issues. Hector also is in his second year serving as one of Council’s Guards.
